From breathtaking landscapes to heartwarming portraits and thought-provoking stories, the winning images in the 2023 Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) awards showcase the beauty and diversity of our planet through the eyes of talented photographers from around the globe.
Overall Winner and Young Photographers

The Young TPOTY awards celebrate the potential stars of the future, and this year all three young category winners hail from the United States. 14-year-old Caden Shepard Choi is named Young Travel Photographer of the Year for her black and white story about Navajo wool production and weaving.

The People’s Choice award, decided by public vote, goes to 15-year-old Rohan Neel Shah (Kenya) for his image of a bewildered wildebeest amidst the Great Migration.
A Prestigious Competition
The TPOTY awards are judged anonymously by a panel of 16 international imaging experts. This year’s new judges include New York photographer’s agent Frank Meo, wildlife photographer Jason Edwards, and editorial photographer and Royal Photographic Society President Simon Hill. Finalists must provide RAW image files to verify the authenticity of their entries.
