LG Electronics Unveils World’s First Wireless Transparent OLED TV at CES 2024, Pushing the Boundaries of Screen Experience
CES 2024 – Las Vegas, NV – LG Electronics (CEO Joo-wan Jo) unveiled the world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV at CES 2024, shattering the limitations of conventional television and introducing a groundbreaking screen experience. The “LG Signature OLED T” not only delivers remarkable openness, showcasing the space behind it like transparent glass when turned off, but also boasts the stunning picture quality of a 77-inch 4K OLED TV.
Since pioneering OLED TVs in 2013, LG has continuously reimagined customer experiences through innovative products like the rollable OLED TV (2019) and the wireless OLED TV (2023). The “LG Signature OLED T” builds on this legacy, seamlessly integrating transparent OLED technology, wireless AV transmission and reception, and self-luminous OLED picture quality. This revolutionary product redefines how we engage with television.
With the TV off, the transparent screen blends seamlessly with your surroundings, creating a sense of spaciousness and harmonizing beautifully with your interior design. This elegantly addresses the common concern of black TV screens disrupting home aesthetics.
When powered on, the “LG Signature OLED T” offers two distinct screen modes:
- Transparency Mode: Experience a three-dimensional effect unlike any other TV. Imagine watching fish swim behind the screen, creating the illusion of them traversing your actual space.
- Black Screen Mode: Immerse yourself in movies, games, and more with the exceptional picture quality of a 77-inch, 4K resolution OLED display. Easily switch between modes with the included remote control.
Further elevating the experience, the OLED T boasts the advanced “Alpha 11 Processor” for enhanced AI-powered picture and sound quality, alongside the 10th-anniversary edition of LG’s acclaimed webOS smart TV platform. The OLED T-specific webOS home screen prioritizes clarity and openness, featuring a dedicated content recommendation page and minimized screen information. Additionally, the “OLED T-bar mode” displays essential information like date, weather, and news headlines along the bottom of the transparent screen, allowing you to stay informed while enjoying the unique ambiance.
The Alpha 11 processor delivers a 70% improvement in graphics performance thanks to its 4x enhanced AI capabilities compared to the Alpha 9 processor. It also boasts a 30% faster app processing speed on webOS. The processor meticulously analyzes video at the pixel level, color corrects with creator intent in mind, and upconverts two-channel audio into rich spatial sound.
The “LG Signature OLED T” is slated for global release, including Korea, later this year. Underscoring its groundbreaking innovation, the TV received recognition at CES 2024, winning the Best Innovation Award in five categories: Video Displays, Digital Imaging/Photography, Embedded Technologies, and Content&Entertainment.
“The world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV is a revolutionary product that redefines the screen experience for customers,” said Park Hyeong-se, head of LG Electronics’ HE business division. “We will continue to push the boundaries of television and deliver experiences like never before seen in the world.”
