Real Madrid midfielder Vinicius Junior has been named the adidas Golden Ball winner at the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, following a sensational tournament that saw him score three goals and provide one assist in just two appearances.
The 22-year-old Brazilian was named man of the match in both of Real Madrid’s victories, against Al Jazira in the semi-finals and Al Ahly in the final. He scored the winning goal in the semi-final and set up Karim Benzema for the opener in the final.
Vinicius Junior’s performances were a major factor in Real Madrid’s victory, as they became the first team to win the Club World Cup four times in a row.
Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde won the adidas Silver Ball, while Argentine forward Luciano Vietto took home the adidas Bronze Ball.
Real Madrid also won the FIFA Fair Play Trophy.
